Sniezka

Śnieżka is located within the Karkonosze National Park. It is the highest peak of the Karkonosze Mountains and the Sudetes at an altitude of 1603 meters above sea level. There you can find the famous astronomical observatory shaped like flying saucers and the chapel of St. Lawrence.
Which trail to take to reach Sniezka?
- Black trail - the shortest trail to Śnieżka - the ascent takes about 3 hours of walking. The route can be started right next to the Green Mountain hotel. It is the steepest trail.
- Red trail - a section of the Main Sudetes Trail - the hike begins at Olimpijska Street in Karpacz. Choosing this trail along the way, we have picturesque places in the Karkonosze such as: Łomniczka Waterfall, Łomniczka Stream, Symbolic Cemetery of Mountain Victims and two mountain huts – PTTK Shelter Nad Łomniczką and Dom Śląski.
Which trail to take to reach Sniezka?
- Blue trail - Wang Church, Mały Staw and as many as 3 shelters! RThe diversity and scenic beauty of the trail compensates for the inconveniences associated with the trail's greatest popularity.
- Yellow trail - the most beautiful trail to Śnieżka - starting at Wang Temple, leading through Pielgrzymy, Słonecznik, along the border of the glacial cirques of Mały and Wielki Staw.
Sniezka with children
- For parents hiking with children in carriers or toddlers - we recommend the chairlift to Kopa. Children up to 7 years old can be carried on the lap of an adult on the lift. From the summit of Kopa to Śnieżka, there is only about an hour's walk, which can be taken via the black trail or the parallel blue trail (the so-called Jubilee Route).
- Older children can confidently go for the shortest route to conquering Śnieżka - the black trail, which can be accessed right next to the Green Mountain hotel.
Cable car to Sniezka
By gondola lift to Śnieżka? It's possible! Just go to the town of Pec pod Sněžkou (750 m above sea level) near the Lesovna shelter on the Czech side of the Karkonosze Mountains. There, at the ticket office, you can buy your ticket for the ride, consisting of two sections.
In less than 10 minutes you can reach the summit of the Queen of the Sudetes - Śnieżka.
Ticket to KPN
Due to the location of Śnieżka within the Karkonosze National Park, before or during the hike, you must purchase an entrance ticket to the National Park. Such a ticket can be purchased at ticket offices located at the beginning of the trails or online.
