Śnieżka is located within the Karkonosze National Park. It is the highest peak of the Karkonosze Mountains and the Sudetes at an altitude of 1603 meters above sea level. There you can find the famous astronomical observatory shaped like flying saucers and the chapel of St. Lawrence.
By gondola lift to Śnieżka? It's possible! Just go to the town of Pec pod Sněžkou (750 m above sea level) near the Lesovna shelter on the Czech side of the Karkonosze Mountains. There, at the ticket office, you can buy your ticket for the ride, consisting of two sections.
In less than 10 minutes you can reach the summit of the Queen of the Sudetes - Śnieżka.
Due to the location of Śnieżka within the Karkonosze National Park, before or during the hike, you must purchase an entrance ticket to the National Park. Such a ticket can be purchased at ticket offices located at the beginning of the trails or online.
